Thanks chrise for your comment. It is good to be able to access help for crossword solving so easily now! HAving said that and rereading all the suggestions for 19D and 21D I remain stuck. I have every second letter, I think, ? A? N? And O? E?. I do get the bit about Churchill . And so appropriate for today 8th May!

I think you must have 20a wrong. It ends with an anagram of "Chopin", and starts with a "sounds like" of a girl's name.

Thanks chrise. I did get the Chopin bit but not the first 4 letters. SO I now see the point about Frenchman! And now all falls into place. NIce day here but still a bit cold. See you next week.
