I don't think I've ever come across this type of clue before. I had the flier, and obviously I had the answer. I just couldn't make sense of the final part of the clue. Now it's clear.

18a daffy, more than once nearly telling bad porkies (4,6)
16d Put it on to repel chaps from kissing (3,5) ..possibly LIP ?????

18 'Daffy' refers to the flower.

I'm now stuck on the 2nd 12 letter word - my omission letters don't make any sense!
