Ah - not a foreigner-friendly clue! Thank goodness for Wikipedia. Thanks.

I worked backwards for 23 A - getting the clue to fit the suggested entry I had, from letters I had.

The 'Daisy' reference is to a radio comedy from the time of World War II. 'Steals one pound' - just normal crossword answer/way of abbreviating 'one pound'.

Hope this is enough/not too much of a hint!

I've foundered on the SE corner. Is 21 a pair of ice-dancers/prancers? If so, what's the explanation? Any hints on 24a and 25d gratefully received, as well. Thank you.

Last one.
Cannot parse the 1Across. I assume the entry is Abraham and the pairing is Lincoln, but I do not understand the clubs part and is the drivers the LL part?

Thank you Kilgore trout for the pointer.
I suppose it is ISAAC, wouldn't say its a well-known pairing.
I'm never in favour of compilers using first letter abbreviations.
cheers
