I arrived at KUDOS by taking ESKUDOS and withdrawing ES (for Espana) to leave KUDOS.

Whilst it is arguable that this fits the clue, your parsing looks better and I suspect is more accurate.

I have only ever seen that currency spelled - Escudos.


I seem to be parsing quite differently from others today.

This was an absolute ordeal! Help appreciated parsing these...

The best I can come up with is is MIN(imum) DING, but there's no instruction to abbreviate 'Minimum', so is there something else?

It looks like 'Changing' = CONVERSION - 'guarding' AT, but that leaves 'Division' for PIECE, which I don't get.

Is it RAG + GAB (Raised), or is there more to it?
