1D - the 'weight' is the usual 3 letter word that needs removing from the end of a 10 letter word for a 'lively dance'

2D - 'Gunfire' is the definition

3D - you need to incorporate a word for 'change' as part of the answer

Thanks, simond, finished now - can't send it in so it's just for fun (??)

1D - of course! I was wondering if that was in there somewhere

2D - obvious when you see it/why!

'3D - you need to incorporate a word for 'change' as part of the answer'
I still don't get this, as the only letters I've got left are CA and H

Oh, and I have 6A now - nice one (but I had to look it up - somehow science was never taught/so badly taught that I've ended up without even the basics).

3D - you've also got the 'S' to play with.

Thanks for the offer of more hints. Unfortunately I'm left with gaps in all 4 quarters of the puzzle so getting one isn't giving me much help with the rest. I'll soldier on for now - maybe you could check in tomorrow to see if I've asked for any more. Thanks
