Just a quick peek in. In addition to RE, nice to see Chrise, Andyc and Jazzy doing very well.

Thanks for the good wishes. It's BCC (skin cancer) on right-lower-back. Not very serious BUT, over many years, I've had it excised by my dermatologist three times and once by a general surgeon. Last time I thought we'd beaten it for good (2009) but, like a bad penny, the little devil has turned up again (all in the same place). I've now seen a Plastic Surgeon and I thought he'd consider MOHS surgery but no, he's going to "excise-and-stitch". Because it's a Plastic Surgeon with a specialty in cancers, I trust this will be the last time. I've got to travel 40 miles to hospital. I'll drive myself there and back. Fingers crossed!

Hello, Jolan. Best of luck when you go in for repairs. I see 3, 4, and 5 right off, but will have to dwell on 1 and 2. The two likely answers for 1 I can't parse...yet.

All found quickly (probably thanks to excellent wine in restaurant)! Don't worry too much about your "repairs", Jolan: it will all go well!

Only 3 today, I'm afraid

2. Kephalic - subtractive (removed) anagram (doctor) of 'clarke hit papa' minus 'a part'. Defn - of the head

4. Antimetabole - anagram (translated) of 'into matabele'. Defn - repeated words in inverse order

5. Frisbees - releases (frees) about BSI backwards (turning). Defn - flying saucers

Thanks again for the 'grey matter' workout Jolan. Really hope everything goes well on Thursday :)
