Aristo, it printed fine for me, but I used a laser printer at work. Do you have access to one? Perhaps a local print shop.
Also, check the printer settings, e.g. B&W vs grey-scale or colour.

Brilliant, Les, in many respects.

Loved the way you grouped us & all the twists.
I suspect one of the Foreign Legion will save the day for us poor bearers of the Y chromosome. (-;

Good grief - have we upset you in some way les? You've really pulled out all the stops in this one my man. Will print it off tomorrow and try to make a start. Have a great day:)

Mine printed fine, aristo and I am fairly non-techie and the printer was Tesco's cheapest! (Just found the inks are something else)
The goup names for the men are very clever, Les, hadn't occurred to me. It's a very original idea altogether.However, the sun is shining .....

WARNING:Correction !!!
In "The Foreign Legion", 2d, the last part should read "...just LIKE lemon juice" !
And that does help with the sense!

Oh sorry GK, you are correct, I thought I'd checked them all but have put 'the' instead of 'like'
My mistake, I was tired when I typed up the clue lists and should have taken more care, hopefully there aren't any more.

Have had a great day sitting in the sunshine pondering this mammoth effort - started on the easy (?) section 'Non De Plumes', as I knew some of the answers :)

Have now completed that (good clues in there chaps) so will move on to the next grid. Therefore,stand by ladies - one is attempting to broach the 'Strumpet's Boudoir'

btw Les - Liked the 'Gatekeeper' across clue, v clever

I am finding this hard work! About 3/4 done on NW, SW and SE, but struggling with the Foreign Legion, the ladies and the gatekeepers (only two of those so far).

Not giving up yet, though.
