Trapped in Germany without acces to the internet until this morning, I have resorted to trying this. I think I have done quite well, but I need a little help to finish.

34a For marriages I put in records on each occasion (13, two words)

I have:
T???ES??OT?ES

Could someone please
a) confirm (or otherwise) if my letters are correct.
b) tell me where the break is?

It is a plain crossword.

(It may be a while before I can post a thank you!)

Thanks again, rusty.

Apart from a French cuckoo, I have no idea what that is (and Google here is only returning hits in German!) What is the definition?

Cou-cou is a West Indian dish of boiled corn meal with okra. Never tried it!

Thanks - that all makes sense now (WI as West Indian, not Women´s Institute!)

Pleased to know the answers, as it is unlikely that I will buy the paper again.

Hi, Chris!
Comes from W. Africa, eaten Friday nights, esp. Barbados, cheap ingredients,etc........!
If you do happen to drop in here again, note my Arauc. tip: assume you can download it there --- may be difficult (to download), but worth its weight in gold imo!
And enjoy rest of Germany!
