Good afternoon friends. Had my cataract operation last Wednesday and, so far, it's a great success. Need to let things settle down now and expect a consultant's appointment in 4 or 5 weeks, New specs after that. Dunno yet if I'm to have the other eye done. There is a line-of-sight cataract in that one BUT, so far, I cannot see it. Nuff about me. Hope you enjoy today's offering. Happy solving. J

Your clues look (even) harder than usual today. I have guessed an answer for #2, but have no idea yet how to parse it, and nothing has sprung to mind for the others. More thought needed.

My guess for #2 was wrong - I have the right answer now.

Reminds me one one of my favourites (I won't say favourite what, though, to avoid giving a clue)

Got #5 and an unparsed guess at #1 now.
