Doh ! Think I've got it now ..... just as I submitted my post ! lol

Rocketman has already asked about 24 Ac. "Mouse's tail's out of place in this church alcove?".
I agree that the answer is SHRINE (=alcove) but why? I keep thinking that "Mouse's tail" is the letter E which has been moved but it doesn't help :)

I asked on The AnswerBank and got the answer:

mouse = SHINER (black eye); the R is out of place --> SHRINE
