Anyone finished this one yet? I've done most of it, but stuck on 14d, 17d 24a, 19d and 23a . No answers please. I will slog on.....

Ah, I had "off side" for 16a. Back to square one !

I've now changed 16a to off S*I* (it was a term I was not familiar with in bowling) so 14d and 24a now done.

Finally finished. 17d was the last to fall

I found it hard today: or was I just stupid?
For several of the clues I could not see the significance of some parts.
I got:

16ac The delivery in cricket
3dn "roughly short"
13dn "the old"
But I don't see:
18ac Stagecoach
23ac "European..."
14dn "Animal..."
