The cat woke me up so I thought I'd check out the latest Guardian genius. Can anyone see it? The print version (all I can see) is esoteric, to say the least. I've got a grid, clue numbers which don't match the grid, no clues and letter counts which also don't match the grid.

And what plugin do I need to see the real version? Java? I'm not sure why it would be disabled.

Go to the menu of different crosswords on the righthand side and choose genius and January 2013 - that gets you to #115.

oh i see. i can get there doing that livs but doesn't work. must be the site at fault rather than a missing plug-in (older ones still work) is my guess, it is just a guess tho.

oops, i should concentrate on one thing (i'm watching a film). i think it is java that is needed, depends on your browser as to how you disable/enable it.

Just checked my browser...Java plug in 10.9.2.05 is enabled so not sure why it's not working...did you manage to get it eventually Livs or are you still having the problem?

Still can't see it but don't know why: Java always WAS enabled on this machine.

Now the alleged 'print version' has a grid which matches the clue numbers and lengths, but no clues and no special instructions as per the 'interactive' page. Is it even the right grid? The first few across 'clues' look like this:

8 (3)
9 (5)
11 (5)
12 (5)
13 (5)
14 (3)
15 (7)
17 (7)
20 (5)
