As usual, have not had chance to look at this properly until today. Think I've finished it, but could do with help deconstructing two of the clues

3d "1 across risen, there's a cuckoo circling" (which I think has to be Euphrates, because of the letters I've got)

7d "Study the country's economy primarily" (?Potash)

Thanks for any help

Thanks. Have now sorted 10 across out.

Was nearly there with Euphrates - thought it must be an anagram of there's - missed up = risen - and didn't click that cuckoo was anagram indicator. 0/10 I think

I thought that I had solved 10 ac and now find I haven't!

1 across's Antarctic expedition? (5)
I have the letters s-o-r

1ac has the answer 'Flower' so this answer could be 'Stour'...but don't see why?

Antartic is South, followed by TOUR, to give, as you say, a river.
