It's "aftershave lotion". But I must have something terribly wrong elsewhere as I am really stuck:

As for 42down, I can't even think what "deep instrument" means! Can anyone please help?

I think on 42d, that second word must be "tray" as when I googled "Deep instrument" I got a lot of things with "tray" but no luck with the first word.

Lemon cheese is another name for lemon curd, which is a "preserve" or "conserve".
