Right I think I've done it, struggling with some of the parsing though. Just one glitch, what is 8a all about?

Finished, I think, but can't parse four of them...41a and 31D(Aristo), 2d(Syzygy) and 37D(Thea)...any subtle hints gratefully accepted.
Is 52A a reference to a Christian with a penchant for BDSM?

GK, don't feel bad about 46A -- one of my faves. Bunting is more common, but like you I found a reference. However, now can't find it either.
