answer could be..Marion. wayne's real first name and rooney's preferred name when he's on a trannie night out.

I do not think it qualified as a proper cryptic clue. There was not even a quesion mark at the end.

and anyway Marion is 6 letters

....so it can't possibly be right (can it?)

5 letters, 6 letters,whatever. gawd some people are sooooo fussy aren't they. if it is 5 I believe it is considered OK in some circles to squeeze 2 letters into one square if necessary.

Now that is being silly!
Just leave the last letter off and call him Mario.
