I still have a few questions.
Wordplay in paul's 30a? Irish girl?
In Wendy's 31a- non-cryptic?
Les's 49a: What's the Dick for? :)
Les's 47a: no-no?
jamoza's 8a: best of British food critic?
Les's 25a: Had to intuit. Drawing (and feeling) blank.

Thanks, ixion. Re 31a; Sorry, by non-cryptic I meant I didn't see typical cryptic wordplay, thought it was more like a clue you might find in a "non-cryptic" puzzle. I'm obviously missing something. Re 8a: Saw the hidden word, but didn't get significance of "Gordon" or "best of British food critic". Still don't.

Full parse of 49a)& 47a)

Dick Wittington's opening = D
in = inside new west(new going west) = wen + end pla(y)
wen(d)y = play-house for children (Wendy house)

I = me
crashed into = anagram indicator
AB and Rosalind
no = without (without the letters nosaid from Rosalind) Which leaves RL
ME+AB+RL (crashed - anagram) AMBLER

ixion is right about his eponymous clue.
I first used Soccer team but then opted for Roma, them being an Italian team and Roman, so yes, the roman eleven is XI + playing = ON + one up front = i
Ixion was bound to a burning wheel, a wheel has all directions on it and burning is firing.

I think it's a good idea next month to do something about the wordplay, I am gonna copy and paste all your explanations to clues to a word doc.
firstly, that will hopefully give me something to work from when entering the clues into the program format so as to limit possible typos (I made a couple this time)
and secondly, it will make it easier for me to publish everyones exact wordplay from their own words, then if any more question marks arise, they can be asked directly to the relevant setter.

Does that sound OK?
