Just about completed this, including the transformation which was clever (of tramp, not me!)but am unsure of 17dn. An adjective, a place name or a girl's name? Also does 15dn have four sides or five? Any hints would be appreciated.

17D - The definition is the first word.

Any hints for 15D or 21D? I have a few ideas for the former, but nothing will tie down, and for the latter, why the devil are there so many words?!!!!

For 15d think about figures as shapes - back to geometry.

I have most of the answers, but still can make no sense of the instructions - I may have some letters wrong, of course.

Thanks. I was working on PERSON for figure and ALS for an Army court - PERSONALS being the director's cut. How wrong can you be?

15dn - can't decide if it's got 4 or 5 sides, star chamber? Pendragon, for 21dn think interior, not cake, decorating and how you prepare a surface.

15dn has 4 sides. The first 4 letters equate to "on court".
