I'm fairly new to cryptic crosswords, and this forum has been a great help in putting me on track. I'm stuck on 3d only - o?e?o?

And I don't understand why 45a is who he is. I especially loved 1a as a clue.

Thanks!

thanks, jazz girl. I thought it might be, but why? A previous post in the longer forum suggested the surname of an actress + the crossword's theme, so I was thrown.
