just had a look at "enigmatic" genius 99 offering. Entertainment? ahead , I think

Good morning dizoz, thanks for the reminder, I'm off to print mine now. There go any other plans I had for today :-)

It seems fairly easy again this month. I have completed seven clues very quickly, but without understanding what 10A is, so I may have lulled myself into a false sense of security.

I thought so too Pendragon - but have now done about a third of the solutions (including 10a) and have come to a complete stand-still. Also, even allowing for the preamble I have an awful lot of left-over clue for each answer, so I'm obviously missing something important. Onwards...........

Just 2 left, both of which look as though they should be obvious (2d, 19d). But still no wiser as to extraneous sections of clues - or to theme spelt out by extra letters! Hoping the last 2 solutions will solve the mystery. Anyone else having this problem?

I've got ten left, but I still haven't got 10A or the theme. There are extraneous letters in 21D and 22A.

Yep, got those but they're not helping!

2D could be Ashman : "M HAS AN." But the link to "in the Arts," he being a lyricist, is rather tenuous.

The link in 2dn is to the theme word, which is the singular form of 16dn.
