You may have noticed that there is a theme in the answers relating to computer manufactures and jargon. Knowing this may help in solving some of the clues

Morning elfie - "explosive" implies anagram, so we want anagram of heard with WAR (missiles etc) inside, i.e "buried inside

sorry WAR refers to fighting, defn is tanks,missiles etc like you said.
