someone who is earthy is said to be plain speaking and quite coarse and vulgar in their manner, this can also be termed as BROAD.

In the sport of fishing, when launching or firing your weighted hook and bait into the water, it is called a CAST (fire into water)

Air = BROADCAST.

I really wanted to get all four of the elements, Earth, Fire, Water and Air into the clue,

Maybe in hindsight I could have started it with "Down to earth" to make it more understandable, anyway, see what you think, rip it to bits if you want.
