I've been out all day. I just emailed the address on the editorial page. Got another email today from SAGA (would you believe?). Apparantly they're going to allow the croddword (I find it hard to believe they actially will). This is what arrived today.

Sincere apologies, you are completely correct, 8 down clue should have read "A key for the passage (5)".

The deadline for entries have been extended until 29th July and there will be a correction in the August issue.

I have let the compiler know and he also sends his apologies.
