Put off food, having tucked in about middle of afternoon. D?s?e?e?e?

I think this was 'dishearten' - put off. It has 'eaten' with the 'r' from the middle of 'afternoon'.

I've just rescued the finished crossword from the recycling bin and I put dissevered.

Which letter from 'demarche' fits into 'd-s-e-e-e-' and where does it fit in? Maybe I'll have a brainwave - stranger things have happened.

d-s-e-e-e-? (I still think I put 'dishearten' but don't know how I got there! We take our recycling away on a daily basis, so I no longer have the paper.
