Thanks Karen - got it now. Sometime you really cant get one and then when it is explained you feel a right twit!!! Started treatment this week and still standing (so far!) worst part is the chemo - not liking sitting down all day, prefer to be up and about. How are you and yours?

Hi old gal, glad you're keeping in touch.
I tried to go horse riding with my daughter when she was the horsey age and we were on holiday next to a riding school. I couldn't go because they didn't have a helmet to fit my big head.

Welcome to Mr Light. No horse/camel stories -the tractor or the Range Rover are the most reliable form of transport out here!!
Very nice to hear from you old gal. Hope all continues to go well over the next few weeks.
No real surprises, as Caravaggio noted, this week. Did like 18A, 2D & 21D.
Regards,
NIMROD

I answered 4 or 5 clues straight off and thought 'yippee, I'm getting better at this.' Then I got 13D from my pedestal and didn't feel so 15A, although I finished in a 11A short time for me.
Hello Old Gal, glad you're keeping in touch and hope you don't feel too rough during the treatment. My friend, the local witch, is sending reiki to you (hope I spelt that right or she might put a spell on me). I don't think you live that far from me, so it should get to you ok.
Off for a 7A (or something similar) and to bed with a book. What an exciting life I lead - never been on a camel,horse,elephant....just a very placid donkey.

Good Morning Everybody and best greetings to Mr Pipesmoker, who was kind enough to mention our recent absence. We are here, The Furry master and I, but he has been very unwell, with a somewhat uncertain future, and neither of us had much to say for ourselves. But like Old
Gal and many others we find the Radio Times a very present help in times of trouble but felt unable to engage with the heat of some of the exchanges on this forum of late. However, talk of Elephants, Horses and Camels raised our spirits and we knew that once again all was well with the world.
Talking of Crosswords, 19d was our last one to solve too and I doubt we would have done so without the help of all of you lot. Be well, dear people, CH.

So sorry to hear that Charlie has been unwell. I hope he picks up soon. I would rather it was me than to see my furry commander in chief suffer. The bold Bubbles was sick again last week, but it was her own fault. She should know by now that raw birds, still with their feathers on, don't agree with her. As ever, she puked it up on the bedroom floor. At least, this time I didn't stand on it with my bare feet.

I hope Charlie continues to improve.

Best wishes.

Thank you, Mr P, for your kind wishes. Would that Charlie's prospects were brighter, at 18 with only one Thyroid Gland left and that one virtually on the blink. Dispositions have had to be made and we are very sad but determined to enjoy life as much as possible together for as long as we can.
I saw on A.N.Other Forum that you sometimes feel at the mercy of CalMac but I was thinking of the many times I took the ferry [MacBrayne's, of course] Whisky in hand and over the sea for an adventure. When Charlie meets his Maker I shall be free to travel again, despite the length of my teeth, and Scotia is in the plan, CalMac and all. BWs, CH.

Hi, CH, I hope you will travel north again one day, but regret the circumstances in which you might be able to do so. Despite the aloofness of our feline friends, they become so much part of our lives.

Incidentally, if you are travelling by CalMac, please carry a large hip flask, as CM prices are very prohibitive. What is they say about them being the only sharks in the Clyde?

Best wishes for now,

P
