Thanks for that. I've done all the left hand side easily but can't do any of the right hand side. Weird.
How about "Many left search in Year One - cracking game!" 6 letters then 9 and the 6 letter word ends in Y

I think doing the left side of the crossword plum wore me out

2D is the man who wrote Star Trek - not quite sure I understand how it all fits in but it's definitely him.

I think 7D is an anagram of "as fan letter paid" but haven't got it yet - something and something perhaps?
