Thought I might encourage les autres not to follow in my footsteps.

There are several crosswords that I feel the same,, etc - but it won't stop. about - viz: Mephisto, Guardian prize, Guardian Genius

For some reason my contribution got muddled, but you get the drift, I'm sure.

All done. 24 across was the last to yield its secret.

Just finished it - 6d proved to be the tricky one for me and held out to the end.

Just received RT4. It looks as though the subscription service is back to normal. Have yet to make a start but a quick glance through the clues suggests 21d is embarrassingly easy.

Took me less than an hour. Didnt like 15a but thought 20a 13d and 10d quite clever. Struggled a bit with the word play on the first word in 18a then realised the significance of "big hit" when I had solved it.

I've just finished it too and agree with Philip's observations. I'm not sure whether the compiler intended a double-whammy with 16a but that's what it is. Another criticism is that the wording for 13d should read Alters as the answer is in the plural...

Like Crypto I too am stuck on 6D,my last one.Can't figure it out.Can anyone give me a wee clue?
