Congrats sudokulover - I keep trying to win a Chambers with this Xword but to no avail - can someone help me with wordplay for the following...

18A - Mill=Bag?
29A - Band=Stash?

Just completed this puzzle. I have to thank Mintyman again for the link, because I must say that I'm really enjoying the Spectator recently. A great mixture of amusing anagrams, "and lit" clues and abstruse words in clues and solutions (13Ac today for example). I've felt I've learned something after each recent puzzle, even if it's only the general knowledge from the preamble. Dumpynose likes his French words too.
