Hello R - Yes, thanks - all back to normal - fingers crossed. I too forgot about this puzzle until this afternoon - most unusual for me. Quite an interesting one.

Have finished grid but still can't pair the theme words. One problem is that I seem to have 13 of them (apart from 9d & 7d). They are 5a,16a,24a,27a,29a,6d and 1a,10a,12a,17a,23a,28a and 22d. I suspect one of the latter seven is not a theme word, but they all seem to lack definition.
Can anyone help ?

Not 23a , then your first 6 all refer to twain and your second 6 all refer to Mark. That's what I thought anyway. 7d goes with 9d

Had the same problem as Sid48 - think the defn. part must just be re - (indicating return to a previous condition) in my old Collins
