I think you would be a lot less confused if the original thread actually contained the whole clue.
"Fish drift off shortly after journey back" drift off shortly - slee(p) journey back - reverse word to get eels.

Unless the clue actually says something other than "Journey back" you are talking nonsense.

Sorry Chris - Rl was the only one who thought of giving the whole clue.

Thank you RL. So journey does NOT = sleep. Why couldn't Dandelion say what you did instead of just repeating bollocks all the time. He must have known what the actual clue was.

no problem chris - I did the crossword this morning - had to retrieve the paper from the recycling bin to get the clue - always helps if the actual clue is given to begin with.

Once again I apologise to Chris and to any others who may have joined the thread and been confused. I'm afraid I did know the original clue in full and unforuntately focused on the original thread.
