19 ac. Club most recently used in endless wall of sand? (7) Have B_A_T_R, so there are only a limited number of possibilities, but can't get it!
Also, why is 5 d. NEEDING?

Club most recently used in endless wall of sand?
I think it is Blaster - most recently(last) used in endless wall of sand (berm endlessly = ber).
What is the clue for 5d?

p.s. I'm not too sure why "Club" gives the answer "Blaster", but there is a cricket bat known as "The Club Blaster"

attention = heedind
number coming in for an hour - means replace h(hour) with n(number)
