I agree, Dizzy. Manners maketh the man.

I just wanted to say what a sad lot you are. The crossword is just a bit of fun to me and I was stuck. There was no need for the insults. Hope it gave you all something to talk about at work today...that is if you are employed.....Help desk maybe.

don't be so precious,this is hardly watercooler moment stuff,if you spoke of it today then you are the sad one,and yes,i am(recently)unemployed.
A job on a Help Desk sounds ok despite your contempt.
Giving the clues to a request is surely just common courtesy,ie rude not to.
Rudeness can engender resentment and BigD who has promised not to answer any "easy"(and also leave any harder)clues,missed the point.
However easy,or hard,without the clue it is(wait for it vicar)always harder(except for 2 of these clues).

I agree eith every Dizzy word. Is it really asking too much to be given the clue. BigD, Smalld, whatever, now seems to be agreeing with everybody, which, of course, is just plain silly.

I agree that giving clues is a great help to getting the solutions. That said, there are quite a few mannerless folk on this forum.
