I have filled the grid and think I have the 'imaginatively pictured gift', but I am confused about the last line in the preamble-
'Lengths given refer to squares used, additional information to the full answer before entry'
Can anyone please explain what this means?

I'm bemused by the additional information part of the pre amble as well. I've pretty much filled the grid, and have the four to be interpreted but I'm confused by the four to be signed and as yet haven't found the gift? Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi Laura

I've assumed that the 6 identical contigious cells
around 15 can be imaginatively seen as the gift described in the story.
As there is nothing to highlight I haven't worried too much about it.

I just had another thought Laura.

I take it that you have the names of the 4 'villains' and have replaced the word'four' with the figure 4 in the grid?

Hi again. Thanks for the advice. I was unsure about highlighting, and I see the cluster around 15, and I also noticed that they are at the end of a word running from 2 and linking to the cluster.

The preamble this week is rather enigmatic.
I do not think that we have been specifically asked to do any highlighting. However if you were to highlight the cluster you would probably not be penalised. Also I seem to have 6 (rather than 4) 'signed' answers with each of the three '4s'doing double duty.
I am unsure what word you had in mind which links to the cluster.

Can anyone help me with 41 across - I have 4_RO_A ?
