I loved the 'syrup' in 19a!

Like Tony I thought the endless syrup was great especially given 1d!

endless syrup? OK, obviously it's 'troupe' so what's toupe got to do with syrup? Or Bruce F for that matter? I know I am thick, I admit it every week, but I guess I don't know much about syrup. As for 16D, well, I have a well known celebration that fits but don't know why it's correct.

endless syrup - syrup is cockney rhyming slang for a wig, a toupee. Syrup of figs- wigs.Chambers gives it.

I forgot Bruce F - presumably he is thought to wear one.

Wow, 'syrup of figs', well I've never heard of that one. Just goes to show: I am ignorant as well as thick. Or I just don't live in the country where such things are spoken! Can someone explain 1A (I've got a word beginning with B and ending with H that is produced by wind moving upwards but what's it got to do with the
Bard? I freely admit I haven't read every word he's ever written.
