Thanks to all for help so far, but I am still having trouble finishing this puzzle. Hints would be appreciated.

There are three more I am stuck on but hope answering the above will enable me to finish.

Hi hally, 28a 9d looks like an anagram of new tool, 3,4. As indicated by sadly. Answer means a disappointing end.

I think 5a is tricky. The answer is an exclamation meaning goodness, heavens. It starts with a one letter abbreviation for a thousand dollars, followed by a word for money missing its first letter. Often followed by gosh
