My sums were wrong. I was singing along to Liverpool Lou 60 years ago.

Swarb, glad you enjoyed the clips. Yoko was on Desert Island Discs (with the aural delight that is, Kirsty Wark) and played Dominic - claiming it was a lullaby 😳 as John sang it to the infant Sean every night at bedtime.

I has a feeling you’d be a GC fan - without getting killed or caught is a good motto for life! The relationship between himself, Susanna, and the great Townes Van Zandt was something special.

Drain-pipes pre-date me - I’m blue jeans, uncreased, but I’m into suede footwear - chocolate brown Chelsea boots😎

I look forward to your clips next week, and in the meantime shall keep me fist on me 4 and 9!

Congrats, swarb, as you seem to be known now. Nice clue. I hadn't seen it when I entered mine, but the constructions are the same. I guess raffles approved as I got a second. So thanks for that, raffles, and for the contest.

raffles

Guy and Susanna's friend Townes van Zandt wrote one of my favourites.

Hope it's not stepping on your ground by letting others hear more of them.

Swarb - post away. Nice to wake up to Emmylou…..
First Aid Kit (2 sisters from Sweden) do a lovely tribute to her.
I was never a big Gram Parsons fan but I’ll always be grateful to him for introducing me to the beautiful Emmylou.

Townes was a character - "this song was inspired by two Mexican bandits I saw on the TV, a fortnight after I wrote it"
But, when the first song is: Waiting around to die, you have a felling it’s not going to end well. Flying Shoes is a particular favourite - Lyle Lovett does a great version.
