The clues...
Requests for help should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer and details of any you already have. Any additional information, or special instructions, common in Listener puzzles, should also be included.
HINTS only, please, no answers.

The theme...
Help towards the theme may also be sought and given here. The help should be fairly gentle in nature - just a nudge or a pointer in the right direction, and certainly not anything that would spoil the puzzle for others. Any posts which, even inadvertently, reveal too much of the theme are likely to be removed.

In general...
There are many regulars on the Listener threads, but newcomers are always welcome.
Unsolicited help, with clues or with the theme, is likely to be removed.
The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

Maybe I'm being a bit unfair - one shouldn't moan before the P has D'ed after all - but this is a bit too GWIT for my liking. The grid fill was straightforward enough with some nice teasing clues, and the messages are clear, but there are so many possibilities for carrying out the 8 letter changes. Is what is revealed by them supposed to be a hint about onward progress? If so I can't see it.

cockie - reading three of the extra down words in the right order limits the options substantially for six of the changes and you should be able to get to the end from there

Took me a while to read them correctly myself mind!

Candledave - I'm pretty sure I have identified and understood the required three words, but an hour's scratching my head looking for something meaningful in that place has failed to elicit anything.

Ok but not sure you’re reading it quite right as otherwise you should have fairly readily changed six letters

Not sure whether or not to call this a GWIT, because the six locations were fairly easy to find and the answer formed quite quickly.

Some neat tricks in the clues, such as 30D. And a neat (and appropriate) ending.

I enjoyed it. Thanks, Tuds.

Well, the penny just dropped for me. Very clever!

I would say it was rather GWITtish though. Even if you find the correct 6 changes in the referenced place (there are many options), you pretty much have to stumble upon where the other two letter changes go. If you do that, the rest is not so hard.

The endgame looked impossible, but it turned out that just taking it one step at a time it didn't take long.

I could think of only one set of changes for the six letters. I couldn't see the point of it, but once I ploughed on all became clear.
