Could it be FREES? Sounds like frieze, but I don't see why it's "replies".

Sorry, just realised it should be:
‘Painted decoration broadcast releases’

FREES works, then - the "broadcast" referring to the sounds like for the painted decoration rather than the releases.

The heading puzzled me considerably and I always check anything I’m not sure about in case it’s spam. Good old Google informed me that the acronyms stand for the following :

EIS = The Educational Institute of Scotland

SEJ = Scottish Educational Journal

Yes that’s right, it’s a magazine my husband gets sent as part of his teaching union. Always has a very good (and tricky!) cryptic crossword in it.
