Ton and stone are Avoirdupois? Is there not a place ending in:- newton? (I’m not terribly up on the UK coastline).

There is a metric weight stone.

Indeed Quiztime - that Wiki link (new to me) more or less confirms it: if stone can be both, then why the 'metric'.
