@Tyke Personally, I like the dual-purpose 'light', and wonder whether you could have got away with '.... light aircraft'

Drdub - I considered 'aircraft' as it would have improved the surface but ... it seems any flying machine which needs a bag full of gas to escape Earth's gravity is a 'ship' - for some unknown reason!
