Julie -many thanks - can you explain why broccoli please?

Me too. I have never seen the film, so what does broccoli have to do with it, please?

i have looked at this and still don't get the connection to broccoli.
and what would be the first one. totally stumped

if you Google "broccoli calendar girls"...there are several items referring to this including a BBC video of one of them posing nude behind broccoli...dont know if this is the connection to the clue though

In the film, one of the talks given to WI members was on broccoli, according to Google (can't remember which website this was on). There may have been other vegetables mentioned, so my answer was really just a suggestion.

In the film Calendar Girls a whole Women's Institute talk was devoted to the subject of broccoli.
It's a great and funny film with wonderful Yorkshire Dales scenery. The real calendar girls are still campaigning and collecting for leukaemia research
