While we’re waiting, here’s something to consider…
…it’s been over a year since we’ve had a word to clue with a “Q” in it.

The last time Q appeared was October 2023 in AQUARIUS, WPR 207, set by Chris.

The other least clued letters and their number of appearances in the last year are perhaps not surprising:
Z (1), J (2), X (5), V (7), Y (13), K (17).

Wow, what a fantastic response - seventeen setters and almost eighty entries! Welcome Drdubosc and thank you everyone.

With so many superb clues to choose from there it was doubtful there was ever going to be a runaway winner. I might mention that my personal favourites were Spike 41 and Dorrien 66, but after that, impossible.

Amej @7, Tyke @20 and Mattrom @55 share the honour of second place but are narrowly beaten by the consistently sharp Simplesimon @18

She was Apple’s first consumer (3)

Congratulations SS! To quote the notorious Raffles - albeit for a different clue - ''Succinct and witty (somewhat), the way I like ‘em...''

Congrats SS and thanks geting.

"Dinner for one" refused to play. I've seen it before (in Germany, of course), but I didn't know there was a colour version.

Many thanks for the challenge Geting !

Spike ... I was a revolting 14 year old Tykelet in 1965 so remember the Barry McGuire version of Eve of Destruction ... I managed to record it on a cheap tape recorder. In those days there was no Radio 1 ... but we had the Pirate radio stations and Radio Luxembourg! ... exciting times ...

Nope, didn't work either, geting. Might there be a geographic restriction? That's what the first refusal implied.
I don't really need to see it again, anyway - I'm not German!
