Yes although perfumer is the English word. In French it would be parfumeur I think so that's not it. Fumer is a raver I guess. Not sure about per or par. "A" could be a per I suppose ( apples 10 p a pound/ per pound) but very weak.

Thanks Anthony. Yes, 'per' or 'par' could mean 'a', but for me the bigger weakness is 'fumer' to mean 'raver'. I don't think anyone ever uses this meaning. Fuming as a verb, yes, fumer as a now, never.

I can only possible deduce that the abswer is "PARFUMIER" but not totally happy with it.
The other one I can't quite see is 43 Down, which is:-
"No seating for these key English dipping into treats?"
It's 8 letters long and I have -T-N-E-S. I magine it can only be "STANDEES" or, maybe, "STANDERS", but I can't get "treats" anywhere into the equation.

Exactly, rocketman, as in to pay for everyone, “stand your round”, so it must be standees. I’m sure the other one is perfumier. Per for a is not uncommon
