17D Clue is: Bid for disconnected reed again

I think I have the answer which fits with the word "bid" and also has the letter that is common to the correct answer to 18A( clue being( Hotel's given a boy light dish )

So "disconnected reed" looks to be an anagram and fits in wíth the obvious noun or verb for "bid" in past tense I cannot see whatthe part of the clue "again" is supposed to tell me?

What remains after removing the letters in reed are 3 letters which I cannot reconcile with what "again" might mean

Assuming the compiler has given all the clue correctly I have missed how to interpret "again" and the remaining three letters

Thanks

Mop, perhaps the first three letters are indicated by ‘disconnected’, then ‘reed again’ is the anagram of reed. Defn is ‘bid for’.
Not very good, but all I can think of.

Thanks Jono. Like quisling I think you have it. I have learnt one thing ,namely, that the word "again" can indicate an anagram so I'll try and put that into my memory bank for future crosswords. Secondly I just need to think longer and harder about meanings of "the first three letters. Obvious that it can mean "disconnected" now it has been pointed out.

Many thanks

Mop, I’ve been doing cryptic crosswords for 50 years and never seen “again” as an anagram indicator, so I don’t blame you at all for not picking up on it!
