I thoroughly commend this week’s EV to other forum users. A great puzzle from Vismut, which is much more straightforward than you might imagine from an initial reading of the preamble. I learned a lot I did not know by completing the puzzle and much enjoyed the challenge and the endgame (which Brendan will be pleased to know involves colours! 😉).

I'm out at the moment but am looking forward to it when I get back. Couples with the recent IQ1888 of Mondrian's Composition A, it's been a good couple of weeks.

Agreed, a great puzzle with a delightful endgame. My only slight problem is deciding where in the appropriate entry to position the centre of the circle. (I don't think I can emulate Giotto). Judging from the image I've found it should be halfway up the line between the middle 2 letters. On a general note I hope the theme will inspire people to take part in an annual event later this month.

Can someone please clarify - regarding the colouring in are there guidelines in completed grid for me to follow or am I free to express myself? I know what needs to be illustrated, just not sure where to put it.

It goes round 17 and 19 across. from what you've written I assume you've made the necessary change to 19 across and have the image.
