Thankyou, Sealion Steve. I wasn't helped by having dough as the second half of 16d, but once I got your comment, I corrected them both. Happy Christmas.

druh, the slang term is not BUCKS, but it is American. Think of something thematic (edible in this case).

The "Judge" in 25 is a single letter, not REF, which is where I came a cropper.

HASH?

Then SHASHLIK fits for 17a.

I struggle a lot when there is no “check” button!

Shashlik is not a patisserie item Druh. And you need a word for fruitcake in there too after the slang for money (the greens). What are US policemen always shown as eating in the cop drama series? I agree it is harder without the check button.

Thank you very much.

If I can find an answer - any answer - that fits I am chuffed to bits.

And then 99.999% of the time I find out that it’s wrong! 😂

I was stuck for ages on 14D because I had the first word of 14A wrong: thought it was the place rather than person sense of boozer, which fit with the other crossers as well as the definition.

The mounds of fat are what some of us may have in a week's time....
Can anyone help parse 14d, I'm sure I have the right answer.
I found this an easier one, but great fun and in the festive spirit. (literally!)

14d is a 4 letter word for a questionable or debatable point inside a 5 letter word ( with one letter cut off the end )for what you do at coconuts at the fair.
