I think your first G might be wrong

Oddly, I haven’t had 1445. Last week was 1444 and today’s edition contains 1446. I get The Week (and daily and Sunday papers) through the Press Reader app rather than in print; maybe that has something to do with it. If anyone has a link to 1445 and can post it here, I would be grateful.

I get it electronically and it was a special Christmas edition with extra unclued seasonal clues.

I have a screenshot but don't know how to get it to you.

Can you parse or explain

Georgia US state 2 letters abbreviation is GA, so GA'S upwards gives SAG (I've forgotten what the definition was supposed to be - wilt, or something?)
