As the starter of the Friday Listener thread, I have in the past got the wrong date for the numerical puzzles. Are there any regulars out there who can tell me whether there's a numerical due on Friday? Thanks.

PS I looked online, at the Listener website - and it said 'numericals are usually on the penultimate weekends of...' I feel that 'Usually' isn't specific enough for me!

It will be a numerical on Friday unless they move it because there is a regular puzzle that is linked to that date that they want to put out instead. But that only happens once every few years. So I'd say 95% chance it's a numerical.

Thanks, Smellyharry. I will probably just do a numerical opening thread - and I can change it later that afternoon if any subscribers post that it's an 'ordinary' puzzle.

Why not put your feet up and take a well earned week off and leave it to those of us who attempt the numericals to create and populate this week's thread.

Jordan, thanks - I'd love it if someone created the opener for the numerical puzzle this week (and every time)! As I don't do numbers puzzles, my opening is always a bit vague and I'm never sure what wording would be better. The main problem for me starting the thread is that I don't see the puzzle until Saturday - so don't know when I'm surplus to requirements.

As the puzzle comes out - for subscribers - at 4 pm, anyone who wishes to start off the numerical thread on Friday afternoon is welcome to do so. Thanks.
