Thanks to Kcit for a fun “Striptease”. An interesting challenge which was not as tough as the preamble and unusual clue structure might suggest.

Agreed about it not being as daunting as a first reading of the preamble suggested. As usual though I can't see what needs highlighting despite much grid-staring.

AP, forgive me if this an egg-sucking lesson. When I first started doing themed crosswords, one of the best pieces of advice I got was that a good place to start looking for a word in the grid was a row or column with a lot of bars as that means the word is less likely to be have been spotted as the grid is filled. Doesn’t work with Chalicea puzzles, though!

Thanks for that Jack. For some reason word searches, even when I know what I'm looking for, have always been a blind spot for me. As you say, when it is a Chalicea puzzle I know where to look but that doesn't mean I'll find what needs highlighting immediately. I will bear your advice in mind.
