Sorry, I forgot the other bit - Fist Pump (more celebratory, winner's gesture etc.)

RBQC, thanks - and glad I could help. I answered an earlier query, the answer was Cavity - that seemed too normal a word for this puzzle!

12a pie shafter? (Although that knackers 4d!)

15d near thing

19d tin pork

Any hints for 28a?

Thanks for the nudges.

12 - you’re mixing up the vowels in an effort to make it ‘Viz’. Think John Prescott R.I.P. (off topic - he saw the new Jag ad and died) or that old tea ad with the monkeys and the piano.

The problem with this puzzle is that most come to it expecting ‘too much’ - the answers are mostly mundane, with only a few ‘choice’ words.

19 - fencing sword.

28 - another anagram (think Toblerone).

[I think all thread’s should be hints and nudges]

[BTW, Trebor, are you anything to the mint company?]

Cheers Rafflesthegt.

All sorted now. A lot of anagrams this month.

Trebor is a child hood nickname which is also an anagram. We didn’t have much to amuse ourselves in the 70’s……

All good Trebor.

Sadly, I’ve witnessed the steady decline of the Craptic to being little more than an anagram-fest. In fairness to Anus, the standard at the outset would be hard to maintain. But, like the magazine, it’s worth it for that one gem every issue!

The 60’s weren’t much better than the 70’s - we contented ourselves by adding an extra line to the tagline of TV ads, viz:
“Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger”
‘Stick ‘em up your hole and they last a bit longer’
